1. What is the difference betweenpermanent magnetsynchronous motor(PMSM)and asynchronous motor(induction motor)?
1.1 Differences in working principles
Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM):
Permanent magnets(NdFeB, etc.)provide magnetic field;Rotor speed = magnetic field speed (strictly synchronized);PMSM can be started directly at industrial frequency or through VFD converter.
Asynchronous motor(induction motor):Squirrel cage or wound rotor, without permanent magnets, generates magnetic field throughelectric;Rotor speed is slightly lower than the field speed (slip exists);Direct start at industrial frequency or through V/F converter.
1.2 Differences in Performance
Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM):Efficiency is high (95%-98%), especially high efficiency at low speed;Power factor is high,Infinitely close to 1;Speed regulation range: wide (1:1000+), suitable for precision control;High torque density (small size,high output).
Asynchronous motor(induction motor):Efficiency is medium to high (85%-95%), efficiency decreases when load rate is low;
Power factor is lower (0.7-0.9), capacitor compensation is required;Speed regulation range: Narrower (depends on the inverter);
Lower torque density (larger volume for the same power).
2.What is the advantages of permanent magnet synchronous motors?
2.1 The motor power factor is high, the power gridquality factor is high, there is no need to add a power factor compensator, and the capacity of the substation equipment can be fully utilized;
2.2 The permanent magnet motor is a permanent magnet excitation, synchronous operation, no speed pulsation, no increase in pipeline resistance when dragging the fan and pump load;
2.3 According to the needs, the permanent magnet motor can be designed with high starting torque (more than 3 times) and high overload capacity, so as to solve the phenomenon of "large horse-drawn trolley";
2.4 The reactive current of ordinary asynchronous motor is generally about 0.5~0.7 times of the rated current,Mingteng permanent magnet synchronous motor does not need excitation current,reactive current permanent magnet motor and asynchronous motor difference of about 50%, the actual operating current is about 15% lower than that of asynchronous motor;
